Day 3 and 4

Okay, so I didn't get a chance to post last night because I was helping Ryan study and I got so tired there were tears welling.

Anyway, yesterday morning I got up at 5 am...again...*amazed*...and I went for a jog near my work. I took Penny with me since it was still dark and a little scary. Penny was the absolute best running partner I could ask for. She was enthusiastic and every time it was time to jog, she'd look back at me with an encouraging pant as if to say, "Are you ready? Are we going to go faster now?" Also, I had my music in but I could tell if something was coming because her ears would perk up. Sometimes it freaked me out a little though. You never know what's out there lurking in the bushes!

Story Time: So last week some coworkers, Ryan, Cindy, and I all went to go The Woman in Black, which is a new scary movie that came out. I spent at least 90% of the movie with my jacket hood over my eyes so I didn't see much but sure enough, I get to jog past a river and every time I do, I'm terrified I'm going to see the woman in black! Her baby is in that crik! And I'm gonna run past and see her chillin' there just waiting to punk me. Scary.

So what did I do? I played the avoidance card, which is something I often do when I'm scared. If you by chance happen to see some ghostly being trying to mess you up, you just pretend it's not there. Oh no, the woman in black and all those creepy children are NOT chasing me. They are just fellow joggers.

The moral of the story? I need mace. No really, as much as my dog is capable of ripping any sort of threat to shreds (she's really not), I need some extra somethin' somethin'. I heard you have to pass a test or something to get mace but I'm unsure. Let me know down bellow cause I'd really like something extra.

Okay, so day four, which is today, was sort of a fail. I was going to get up and do Yoga but like I said above, I was up far too late. Not to fear. There's always tomorrow!

Also, I found out what cross training is. It's biking, swimming, yoga, or any other sort of exercise that isn't running. So two nights ago, Ryan and I talked about other things I can to do to strengthen my body. I've been really worried about my ankels because they're always the first thing to hurt when I start running. Something about being super fat and not exercising, I don't really know, it's all a little fuzzy. Anyway, he gave me some great exercises for not only my ankles but for everything. Hurray! I guess it pays to have married a jock.

Okay, that's it. Here's to 5 am yoga!

  1. Hahaha, Sally. You are my favorite person. "I don't really know, it's all a little fuzzy." Totally had me laughing out loud. I love you.

  2. You are my inspiration. I walked today, too, which is huge for me since I still have post-partum fail-pain. But I did it! Thanks for the motivation! Keep up your spirits, my darling sister!

  3. You don't have to pass a test to buy mace. I bought some at a sports/outdoors store. It was super cheap, and it can clip on my key chain. I bought it for when I was going to late night rehearsals in downtown Austin.
