Well it's almost been four weeks since the big day and things are better than ever. Being engaged totally blows in comparison. I remember reading a quote once by someone much wiser than I about how if we knew what it was like to have our best friend, biggest support, and greatest love by our side we would have all decided to get married much earlier. Four weeks into marriage and I completely understand this quote. The loneliness of single life was a waste of time. But it helped me appreciate so much more the time I now have with Ryan.
Interestingly enough, just because we're newly weds doesn't mean we just gaze into one another's eyes and whisper sweet nothings. Marriage, if anything, has been a great trial of patience and faith. You're suddenly given an enormous amount of responsibility in addition to
having to learn to trust someone with things you've always done yourself your own way. The biggest defense against the natural man's desire to lash out irrationally is prayer. That and going to the temple together. I recommend it big time.
Anyway, enough with all that. We had the funnest time of our lives on our Honeymoon. We went to Disneyland, California Adventure, Universal Studios, Sea World, and San Diego
Zoo. So let's start with Disney Land.
The whole place was decorated for Christmas so everywhere you looked there were beautiful decorations. Disneyland doesn't do anything half way so you can imagine. During our first night there they did a Christmas themed Fireworks show that ended with snow in main street. The snow was actually foam but it was magical nonetheless. Plus, it wasn't cold like real snow so I was happy.
New Orleans Square was by far my favorite as far as decorations are concerned.
So this trip was the first time I've been on Small World since the dawn of time and it was all decked out for Christmas. It was still annoying as ever but it looked fantastic. Wouldn't you know that for Christmas they sing the other most annoying song known to man. Yep, that's right, Jingle Bells. Oh what fresh hell. During the ride we tried to make everything seem menacing instead of adorable and festive. It's not that hard when you have a million Chucky's singing Christmas songs in different languages.
One of the best parts of Disney Land was the day it rained. Now at first it seemed like the worst thing ever but after going back to the hotel and getting ultra super duper prepared (two pairs of socks and five jackets) it ended up being a blast. Not only did the rain wipe the entire park clean of guests but we were able to ride Indiana Jones at least four times in a row. The park was deserted! It was so beautiful with all the lights and the giant Christmas tree down main street. Before we left the park that night we got a cookie and just strolled around Disney Land like we owned the place. It was so beautiful and so romantic. Check out the castle!
Check out Ryan's awesome Indiana Jones hat too!
In California Adventure we found our love of Tron. We've seen it three times and we own the soundtrack to which we've already spent countless hours pretending we're driving one of those awesome motorcycle/Tron car thingies. This picture is proof that Tron exists and hope that I may one day go there.
After spending time in LA we went down to San Diego to play with the dolphins and Shamu. San Diego was green and misty and beautiful. I loved every second of it. It was everything I thought California should be. My favorite part of it was going to the San Diego temple which is by far one of the most beautiful temples on the face of the planet. The inside is even more incredible and I hope all who reads this gets to visit it at least once in their lifetime.
Nothing brings you closer than the temple.
Now, I know a lot of you are anxious to see some wedding pictures and here's my rather rude reply: Why are you so obsessed with me?
Hahahaha, I'm so funny. That's why I have so many friends. No, for real, Devin is working his little head off to get them done so cool your jets. But here is a preview...

Keepin' it real...

One from my bridal sesh

We are such goofballs which is something I never realized until this exact moment

happy face :)

I think I look pretty cute but I'm biased cause I'm me.

My personal favorite ;)
So as for life after the wedding/honeymoon we're pretty much all moved in. We have a beautiful little apartment in a semi-scary neighborhood but nothing we both can't handle. I'll post pictures tomorrow after I've cleaned it up a bit but trust me, it looks great. I've been working at the same place Ryan works helping take patients to their doctors appointments. Ryan started school yesterday and we have a bill sitting on the table. What seemed so scary months ago is now here and definitely not scary at all. Everything is going well and we've got the Lord on our side. To all of you I say thank you. For all of your support and blessings and well wishes. I'm so grateful to all of you for everything.
Happy thought of the day: I have INTERNET!
Annoyance of the day: We're almost out of milk and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Also it took me about five minutes to figure out how to spell cinnamon. My various tries included: Cinnamin, Cinnomin, Cinnoamin, and al;skdjga.
aaaand here i am trying to come up with yet another witty or clever something to say and coming up short. i ALMOST didnt even comment but i know that if i didn't comment now, i never will for fear of sounding cheesy. i guess i just need to embrace my cheesiness. (plus i know how fun it is to see at the bottom of the post that someone commented!! yay!)
