Day 33

I cleaned our room tonight. This week has been a little challenging for me so I felt like I was cleaning the clutter out of my mind. Our room has been a disaster for...since we moved in. I sort of feel the same way. So many things have a way of just getting away from you and suddenly you look around and you think...this room smells like dog. Gross.

I have no idea where I'm going with this. I'm tired, and a little down but I found this on myfittnesspal.com and I thought it was motivating:

This is a calorie counting website. I figure most people are here to lose something:weight, low self esteem, negative self image, etc.
I am not here to lose anything. I intend to gain. In fact I've gained many things already.
I have gained health. My blood pressure is no longer medically controlled and I've taken 30 points off my total cholesterol.
I have gained strength. I am stronger physically now than anytime in the past 8 years. I am stronger emotionally now more than any other point in my life.
Most importantly I am re-gaining me. I never thought I'd be here again, but here I am. I look in the mirror and I see MY face. Not that other guy who lived with reckless abandon. It's me, and I'm back.
I guess I will lose a little weight too, but I can put up with a little loss to go along with everything that I've gained.

Pretty good stuff, I thought. Focusing on losing weight can be overwhelming. But focusing on what you're gaining from trying to become a better you makes it all seem worth it. It keeps a positive perspective in your mind.

Tomorrow I've got a big run. I'm behind on my miles so it's a good thing I've recommitted to my 10K.

Oh by the way, I'm super offended that nobody posted any songs on my last post. Was it because my post was so short? Were ya'll snubbing me due to the frequency of posts going down?

Okay, so I know you all are obsessed with me (stalkers) but you need to realize that sometimes I just get busy! It doesn't mean I've forgotten you or that I'm writing to another blog audience. You guys are the only ones I'd ever blog to, I swear! Alright, poopsies? XOXO

Love in the club.

*whispers* That was a subtle hint for you to leave a comment.... :)

  4. My excuse....I don't know how to post music on your blog...besides, I would probably send you something like the Carpenters and you would have to run in slow motion, which I guess would be walking. Nevermind. :(

  5. My excuse is that I had a couple song suggestions ready for posting but alas. my self-consciousness got the best of me and I got worried that you probably have heard all my suggestions and already don't like them. hahah! oh well.. here are a few:
-If you are looking for songs like the Mindy Gledhill one, I recommend Ingrid Michaelson (sp?).. her pandora station is awesome. very girly and fun. Or Sara Bareilles.
-If you are looking for something upbeat, you must know I am a bubblegum punk lover at heart. So bands like Jack's Mannequin, The Rocket Summer, The Starting Line, The Ataris, or Boys like Girls really help me to get in a good mood for things like cleaning, working out, etc.
-A few others- OK Go! so darn fun, that band. LOVE them. Or Owl City (If you are sensing a happy band theme, may I remind you that you said no Rage against the machine type stuff so I'm trying to avoid that hahaa)
-A little rougher but not Disturbed- The Spill Canvas (super emotional kinda but oh so good). Panic at the Disco? Paramore? Just throwing out ideas
-Or you could always just go old school, Boston, Journey, Pet Shop Boys? haha ok maybe not that last one...
If you don't like any of theses, I won't be offended.. just giving you a lil taste of what kinda stuff I like that isn't top 40's chart or rap/hip hop. lol!
